Phenomenology of Prayer 1
December 03, 2019
On page 1 Benson and Wirzba say, "Perhaps the most important answer is that prayer connects us to the divine, to something beyond ourselves and beyond immediate reality." This quote really speaks to me because prayer has helped me through some very rough times in my life. Almost 2 years ago exactly my Pawpaw died of a renal/organ failure, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's. I was VERY VERY close with him, so I took his death very hard and prayer was one thing that helped through it greatly. I leaned to God in this tough time and basically just poured my heart out to him. This quote talks about how prayer connects us to something beyond ourselves, and I believe that I was connected to something greater in those moments of my life especially.
