Erin Reno- Vroman's Nose

Vroman’s Nose
Located in central New York, Vroman’s Nose is a mountain a few miles away from where my mother grew up.  Only about 2 miles long, the hike to the peak is an easy one and has been done by my family countless times.  At the summit there is a beautiful view of the Schoharie Valley, and on the rock there you can see hundreds of etchings left by past hikers.  This reminded me of the concept of leaving something behind which was touched on in class with the Camino. Though many of the etchings are from not too long ago, some of the oldest predate WWII, and makes you think about all the people who came before you to this mountain to seek a moment of indulgence in nature.
