Image and Pilgrimage in Christian Culture 2

December 03, 2019

On page 40 Turner and Turner say, "Pilgrimage lives in Mexico. Millions of people every year journey to near or distant shrines, some of which date almost from Cortes's conquest, others from the latest rumored miracle." This quote really caught my eye because of how blunt it is about how pilgrimage LIVES in Mexico. I will say that I do agree with that statement because of background research and me personally visiting Mexico, I know and have seen first-hand how important pilgrimage is to people in Mexico. I also have seen many tourists go down to Mexico to visit shrines and try and find their spiritual journey or meaning in life. It is an amazing sight to see and it makes me want to find my own journey in life even more.
