Kayaking Along the Rivanna River
I grew up on a lake and for as long as I can remember I have always loved Kayaking. This fall break I went on a Kayaking trip along the Rivanna river with my family. The trip was vary relaxing and brought back many memories of past trips I had taken down that same river. I've always been fascinated in looking for the various animals living along the river. In particular I love the strange prehistoric look of the river gar, and the frogs and turtles that line the banks of the river. This is in fact how I spent a majority of my trip looking for delicately perched turtles and pointing them out to my family. I thought a lot about these animals and their seeming indifference to our presence. I thought a lot about the idea of flow while Kayaking. the Riavanna is a relatively easy Kayaking rout and for the most part you don't need to paddle because of the steady pace of the river.
