Lake Maury
Standing at the edge of the lake with the class was not a new experience for me. I have walked the trail many times both by myself, and with friends. Yet, after reading the narratives the class before, I looked at it from a different perspective. For example, the text talked about how mountains viewed wolves. It had never crossed my mind to think other non-human things "viewed" the world through any sort of lens, other than perhaps animals. But thinking of mountains knowing secrets that humans didn't makes me wonder if there is actually a reality to it? It goes back to the idea of seeing something face-to-face. Originally, that passage just struck me as a recognition between people, but now I realize that it can be between nearly anything. When you acknowledge these "inanimate" entities, there is a whole birth of knowledge to be gained.
