“A religious sensitivity to place is an enduringly significant dimension”
I pulled this quote from Landscapes of the Sacred: Geography and Narrative in American Spirituality just like that of a previous journal entry. I felt it was fitting to use because places hold so much meaning to those who have experienced something great or traumatic there. People can be overwhelmed with so many sensations just from a place that they have connected to their spirituality. But, a question still arises and that is, how does one know how big of an impact a place will have over them? How can one little place dictate how a person will now live their life? Is there any rhyme or rhythm in making a place more sacred than the next? Or is it up to an individual to decide how far they are will to take their faith when it comes to a sacred place? Whatever the answer is for these questions may be, one thing is clear and that is that people are going to decide things for themselves and even if I can not understand another person's logic does not mean it is invalid.
