Lion's Bridge with Friends 11/25/2019

If there is anything I love, its my friends and spending time with them. Coming to college, I really wanted to have a good group of friends that I could hang out with, have jokes with, and be 100% comfortable with. As if by magic, me and seven other girls and one boy somehow came together three months and have been together ever since.
Being freshmen, between Setting Sail, Leadership Adventure, and Welcome Week, we have been given endless stream of things to do at CNU. One thing that was the same on every single list in every single presentation was going to the Lion’s Bridge. So, what did my friend’s and I do one Saturday afternoon? Go to the Lion’s Bridge.
After getting our dinner, we drove and parked at the Mariner’s Museum and then made our way, by foot, to the Lion’s Bridge. I must confess, my head was not in a “spiritual analyzation of the outdoors” type of mindset, my mindset was that of enjoying the company of those around me as I got to know my friends, and they got to know my laugh- I laugh a lot. Finishing up our trek, I saw the tip of regal stone lion, and knew that we had arrived. Once I made my way all the way up, I was in literal awe. The water seemed to stretch for miles, and the sun’s perfect reflection shimmered off of it. The sky was painted beautiful with pretty pinks, strong oranges, and soft blues. The slight breeze flew, enough to gently ripple the waves of water that went on and on and on. All I wanted to do was sit, and watch the sun set. Watch the life of the James River live. No talking, no laughing, no anything but sitting and breathing, and being a part of it all. So that’s what we did.
              Beauty. Tranquility. Life.
That was my first, but most definitely not my last, experience at the Lion’s Bridge.
