Daniel Thompson: Lions Bridge/Noland Trail Blog 2

The view from the bridge struck me as the shear distance I could see was massive. I could see far up and down the river. It surprised me because most of the times I've been by the river have been near large buildings near the shipyard, obscuring my field of view. The calmness of the water attracted my attention as it acted like a mirror, reflecting the sky on it. While this was a very natural location, human influence was even seen in nature (besides the bridge/road obviously). The various invasive species of plants that grew along the trail made it clear even things appearing natural are still human in a way. These plants made their way to this location from far away places, transported by people. It makes me wonder, what did all look like before?
