Phenomenology of Prayer #1

The part of this reading that had the biggest impact on me was when the author introduced the first theme of prayer in the introduction. I typically like the introductions to books because that is when everything is worded bluntly and therefore, I can follow along easily. I could also relate to this part because I find it very true from my own experience. The author writes “we do not really know how to pray and so we are constantly in the state of learning.” I can relate to this because when I do go to church, which is not that often (sorry God), I don’t know how talk to Him during a silent prayer. It’s super awkward because I feel like I’m talking to myself and I’m a crazy person. I also don’t know what to pray about if I have nothing really going on in my life.
