The Hayduke trail documentary

In the documentary Figure it Out on the Hayduke Trail we follow the film maker himself as he braves the Hayduke trail for the first time. While initially he sets out with a friend his plans become complicated when the said friend decides he doesn't want to continue along the trail due to it's harsh nature. Left alone the film maker has to become entirely self relent increasing the difficultly of trail be a good amount. What I like about Hayduke trail compared to the other trails we have looked at in the past is the shear amount physical and mental pain that hikers must endure in order to get through the trail. Unlike say the AT or the Camino de Santiago, on the Hayduke there are often times no nearby roads or towns to turn to if you need help. The documentary does an excellent job at showing us this by having most of the dialog taking the form of the film maker working through the problems he is facing live on camera. This has the effect of putting us in the shoes of the film maker and as a result increasing the intensity of the film.
