In this article, Susanne Palmer interviews an 80 year woman about her life. She reflects on her past mistakes and her best and worst times. The woman had many regrets on her past life, but her biggest regret was not spending enough time with her family. She focused so much on her career, that she never stopped to enjoy quality time with her children and husband. The woman later talks about aging physically, and that she never thought she was beautiful in the first place so it never matter to her. Palmer said she was the past of age of the "peak of grief" so she has already accepted this about herself. She seemed to be content with her life and said you shouldn't have any regrets, but it's life so anything could happen. The woman also said that she wasn't afraid of death, but the process of dying. She was sure of the afterlife, that she had a place after she passed away, But she was afraid of how she would go, by leaving her family. Would it be in the hospital? or in her sleep? There were so many variables that she still didn't know the answers of. The takeaway the woman wanted others to understand was to appreciate what is given to you in life: take them and hold on to them tight. Love those who surround you with compassion and kindness. Keep your loved ones close and don't let them go.
