Yorktown's Secret Beaches

Yorktown’s Secret Beaches

August 31, 2019
Down at Yorktown beach, there are a couple secret beaches through some woods, which require you to do some hiking. There is one beach off to the right side of the beach near the picnic area where dogs are allowed. To the far right of that beach there is a small pathway that requires you to climb a rocky area, then walk down a pathway, through some woods, and down a long, steep embankment there is a small-sized beach hidden away from the rest of the crowds of people. If you continue walking through the woods, up a small ridge, and down some large rocks you will find the most secluded of Yorktown’s beaches. This beach has some washed-up trash, but it is backed with dense trees and shrubs.  I’ve been to the most secluded beach, it’s peaceful and quiet, occasionally there will be a passing boat or a plane flying overhead. It is one of the most peaceful places that I have been in my life.
